The Message
He Is Risen
Matt 28:1-6
28 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. KJV
- The plan of Salvation started before - Jesus' public ministry - The beginning of the New Testament - The giving of the Law - The creation of Man - The creation of the Universe
- The Plan of Salvation started in the council of the Godhead in eternity - The fall of man was not a surprise: for God is omnescent - The redemption of Man (the Plan of Salvation) was settled - Before God said, "Let there be light"
- The plan was being executed ever since the creation - The bloodline of the Messiah was being laid out - From Adam up through David to Joseph and Mary
- The Law was our schoolmaster to show us - The righteousness of God - The 10 commandments, that expanded into 613 laws - To adhere to God's righteousness one must keep all 613 laws at all times - Breaking 1 law was the same as breaking all 613 laws - Therefore showing that we can never meets God's righteousness
- Jesus is the only Man born who had innocent blood and met all 613 laws at all times - Thereby adhering to God's righteousness
- Jesus is presented by John the Baptist as the Lamb of God or (God's Lamb) - It was on the cross that the Plan of Salvation was finished - When God's Lamb was sacrificed - When Jesus said, "It is finished"
- Jesus died on the cross at 3:00 PM on Wednesday - Jesus was buried just before 6:00 PM on Wednesday - for the Passover Sabbath started at 6:00 PM
- Jesus was in the belly of the earth for - Thursday morning - Thursday evening - Friday morning - Friday evening - Saturday morning - Saturday evening
- That's 3 days and 3 nights (72 hours) per Matt. 12:40
- After the 72 hour period Jesus rose from the grave - No human witnessed the resurrection of Jesus - The discovery of the "empty" tomb did not occur until just before daybreak on Sunday morning
- As the angel told the women, if you are looking for Jesus, you need not look in the tomb
- He is not there for HE IS RISEN
- All other religious founders were born, and all died, and are still dead.
- Jesus alone was born, died, but rose from the dead (grave) and is alive for evermore
- He was seen alive by many
1 Cor 15:3-8
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. KJV
JESUS IS ALIVE
HE IS RISEN
You can invite Jesus into your life thereby being born again.
Rom 10:9-13
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. KJV
